PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas --The Prairie View A&M Panthers rallied to score one in the ninth inning and walked it off on junior Garrison Weiss' double to pick up the 7-6 victory over the Incarnate Word Cardinals Tuesday.
Sophomore Tyson Carlton (2-3) got the win out of the bullpen for Prairie View A&M (24-23). The right-hander went 1.1 shutout innings without giving up a hit, no walks, and striking out three.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers were trailing 3-0 in the third inning when they first put runs on the board. Prairie View A&M's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a two-run single off the bat of Weiss.
The Cardinals then tied the ballgame at four before the Panthers came back to reclaim their advantage in the fifth inning. Prairie View A&M scored twice on junior Jadin Moreno's two-run homer, which brought the score to 6-4 in favor of the Panthers.
Incarnate Word then rallied to tie the ballgame at 6-6 before Prairie View A&M walked it off in the bottom of the ninth on Weiss' one-out RBI double.
