PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas --The Prairie View A&M Panthers had a tough showing on Friday, falling to the Grambling Tigers 19-3 despite the efforts of junior Lee Allen, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Junior Michael Dews (2-3) started and took the loss on the mound for Prairie View A&M (13-18, 4-6).
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers got the scoring started early, putting two runs on the board in the bottom the first inning with the game still scoreless. Allen drove in two runs for Prairie View A&M with a single, that scored sophomore Michael Burroughs and senior Marshal Jonas.
The Tigers then gained ground, narrowing the lead to 2-1 until the Panthers expanded their advantage in the fourth. Allen came across to score the lone run of the inning for Prairie View A&M, which brought the Panthers lead to 3-1. The Panthers were unable to hold the lead, as Grambling scored 18 times over the remaining four innings to grab the 19-3 win.
