PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The Prairie View A&M women's basketball team will officially tip off the 2025-26 campaign on the road Sunday afternoon, visiting the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) for a 1 p.m. matchup inside the Don Haskins Center.
The contest marks the beginning of a new era for the Lady Panthers under first-year head coach Tai Dillard, who looks to establish an up-tempo, defensive-minded identity for PVAMU. After weeks of preseason preparation, Dillard and her squad are eager to test themselves against a competitive non-conference opponent.
"We're excited to get the season started and see where we are," said Dillard. "Our team has worked hard to build chemistry and intensity. This game gives us a great opportunity to compete, grow, and set the tone for the season ahead."
The Lady Panthers return several key contributors from last season's roster while also welcoming a talented group of newcomers expected to make an immediate impact. The team aims to build upon last year's momentum and make a strong push in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play later this winter.
