PRAIRIE VIEW - Seven different players scored touchdowns, led by two scores from Chase Bingmon, as Prairie View A&M rolled past Mississippi Valley State 59-6 on Saturday afternoon inside Panther Stadium at Blackshear Field.
The Panthers improved to 9-3 on the year and 7-1 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play, while the Delta Devils fell to 1-10 and 0-7.
Cameron Peters led Prairie View A&M's passing attack with 234 yards through the air, tossing two touchdowns and one interception. The signal caller also added 28 yards and one touchdown on the ground.
Bingmon paced the Panthers rushing attack by accumulating 71 yards and two touchdowns over the course of the game, averaging 8.9 yards per carry. Andre Dennis also added 51 yards and one touchdown on the ground, averaging 51 yards per carry, as well as 55 receiving yards.
Jyzaiah Rockwell reeled in four catches for 100 yards and one score. Rodny Ojo got in on the action in the passing game as well, hauling in three balls for 65 yards.
Travor Randle showed out for the Prairie View A&M defense, recording one interception. Danarius Hollywood added one recovered fumble and Kennedy Parker had six tackles, 3.0 TFL, and one sack in the win.
The Panthers won the turnover battle in Saturday's game, forcing two turnovers while coughing the ball up one time, with Prairie View A&M turning those takeaways into 14 points. Prairie View A&M also had an outstanding day offensively, racking up 500 total yards, 234 on the ground and 266 through the air, while averaging 8.6 yards per play and out-gaining Mississippi Valley State.
Defensively, Prairie View A&M did an impressive job restricting the Mississippi Valley State offensive attack, holding the Delta Devils to 142 total yards. The Panthers kept Mississippi Valley State under 100 yards on both the ground and through the air, allowing only 80 passing and 62 rushing yards.
