Prairie View A&M Falls Short in 105-62 Loss to Wichita State

WICHITA, KS --The Prairie View A&M men's basketball team fell short in a 105-62 loss to the Wichita State Shockers on the road Saturday.

The Panthers (2-1) had four players score in double figures, led by Cory Wells, who had 15 points, nine rebounds and two steals. Tai'Reon Joseph tacked on 15 points and Marcel Bryant helped out with 13 points off of the bench.

Wells pulled down three offensive rebounds to lead the Prairie View A&M offense which grabbed 12 boards and turned them into 17 second chance points.

How It Happened

Prairie View A&M struggled out of the gate, falling behind 53-36 heading into halftime.

Wichita State kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing an 89-53 advantage before Prairie View A&M went on a 5-0 run to shrink the deficit to 89-58 with 4:52 to go in the contest. Wichita State responded and outscored the Panthers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 105-62. Prairie View A&M got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for 14 of its 26 total points.
