BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, TX --Tai'Reon Joseph collected 26 points and Cory Wells added 25, but the Prairie View A&M men's basketball team fell to the Texas A&M Aggies 111-82 on the road Monday.
The Panthers (5-8) had four players score in double figures, led by Joseph, who had 26 points and two steals. Wells added 25 points, nine rebounds and four assists and Lance Williams helped out with 12 points and six assists.
The Prairie View A&M defense was effective at taking away the basketball in Monday's game, forcing 14 Texas A&M turnovers. Those takeaways turned into 14 points on the other end of the floor. Joseph's two steals led the way individually for the Panthers.
How It Happened
Prairie View A&M struggled out of the gate, falling behind 60-39 heading into halftime.
Texas A&M kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 91-57 advantage before Prairie View A&M went on a 9-0 run, finished off by Wells' jumper, to shrink the deficit to 91-66 with 8:26 to go in the contest. Texas A&M responded and outscored the Panthers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 111-82. Prairie View A&M made the most of six offensive rebounds to tack on nine second chance points out of 43 total in the period.
