BOX SCORE COVINGTON, Ga. -- Prairie View A&M University was triumphant over North Carolina A&T University 10-6 on Saturday for its third game of the Leonard Moody Inttercollegiate Invitational.

A home run to right field by Mia Nunez put Prairie View A&M University on the board in the bottom of the first.  A walk by Nya Brown extended the Prairie View A&M University lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning. A sacrifice fly by M Meeks extended the Prairie View A&M University lead to 4-2 in the bottom of the third inning.

Brielle Moreno stepped in the circle first for Prairie View A&M University. The starter gave up five hits and two runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking five. Joey Barkhimer started in the circle for North Carolina A&T University. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and six runs (five earned) over three innings, striking out five and walking seven. Madaleyne Martinez and Hailey Elizarraras each appeared in relief for Prairie View A&M University.

Janaiya Thomas drove the middle of the lineup, leading Prairie View A&M University with three runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Hannah Garza and Kearstin Tinsley each collected two hits for Prairie View A&M University. Nunez led Prairie View A&M University with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating eight walks for the game. Tinsley stole three bases. Prairie View A&M University stole six bases in the game.

North Carolina A&T University collected 12 hits in the game. James drove the middle of the lineup, leading North Carolina A&T University with five runs batted in.
