PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas - Joanne Fernandes was recently named SWAC Tennis Player of the week, after her performance against the Incarnate Word last week.

In an outstanding display of skill and composure, Fernandes clinched a crucial singles win against Incarnate Word on February 19, 2025. Fernandes, who hails from Navi Mumbai, India, showed her prowess on the court by taking the first set 7-5 and the second set 6-3, marking her as the only Panther to secure a win in her singles contests during the meet.

Fernandes has been recognized as the SWAC Tennis Player of the Week for her exceptional performance. This recognition highlights her talents on the court and her significant contribution to the Panthers' efforts in a challenging fixture. As a junior, Fernandes continues to make significant strides in her collegiate tennis career, consistently pushing the limits and setting high benchmarks for her peers and opponents alike.
