The Prairie View A&M Panthers softball team is set to showcase their skills at the upcoming UTA Maverick Tournament. Scheduled for February 28 and March 1, the Panthers will face significant challenges against East Texas A&M and UTA.
The tournament kicks off for the Panthers with a game against East Texas A&M on February 28 at 2 PM. This will be their first encounter with East Texas A&M, setting the stage for an intriguing competition. The following day, March 1, the Panthers will face off again against UTA, with games slated for 12 PM and 2:30 PM. Their last confrontation on February 8 ended with a 9-3 loss for the Panthers, providing them with a chance to turn the tables and avenge their previous defeat.
Coach
Vernon Bland, leading the Panthers with a current season record of 6-7, is looking forward to the opportunity for his team to gain valuable experience and potentially improve their standing. The tournament also holds significant importance as it unfolds over two days, adding to the competitive fervor of the event. The last game against East Texas A&M provides an opportunity for the Panthers to showcase their growth and strategies devised by Coach Bland.
The tournament will take place in Arlington, Texas at the Allan Saxe Field. The game can also be streamed online through ESPN+ and live stats.
