All Prairie View A&M Starters Reach Base in 9-5 Win Against Jackson State

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas --Prairie View A&M received contributions from every part of their lineup, as all nine starters reached base safely, helping the Panthers put nine runs on the board and take down the Jackson State Tigers 9-5 Sunday.

Sophomore Ahmar Donatto (1-1) got the win for Prairie View A&M (6-14, 2-1). The right-hander went five innings, giving up four runs, three earned, on six hits, allowing one walk and striking out three. Senior Leonardo Bravo also pitched well, going four innings, surrendering one run on five hits, walking none and striking out four.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trailing 2-0, the Panthers first put runs on the board in the second inning. Prairie View A&M's offense started clicking and put up five runs, including a one-run flyout off the bat of senior Brayden Johnson.

The Tigers then gained ground, narrowing the lead to 5-4 until the Panthers expanded their advantage in the sixth. The Prairie View A&M offense exploded for four runs, highlighted by a two-run single off the bat of senior Trenton Bush, which brought the score to 9-4 in favor of the Panthers. Jackson State put one run on the scoreboard before the game was over, but Prairie View A&M still coasted to the 9-5 win. 68 90 31 13 9
