PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas --The Prairie View A&M Panthers struggled on Tuesday, falling to the Tarleton State Texans 15-1 despite the efforts of freshman Kearstin Tinsley, who went 2-for-2 with an RBI.
Freshman Caden Young (0-1) started and took the loss in the circle for Prairie View A&M (10-13). Senior Halley Elizarraras was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going 2.2 shutout innings while allowing one hit, walking none and striking out two.
At the plate, the Panthers were paced by Tinsley, who went 2-for-2 on the day with a walk and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 15-0, the Panthers first put runs on the board in the fourth inning. Prairie View A&M got an RBI single from Tinsley, scoring sophomore Lainey Niederhofer from third base. The Panthers were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame.
