ABILENE, TX -- In a challenging couple of days marked by high winds on the final day at the West Texas Classic on Tuesday, the Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers golf team, represented by their standout players, faced tough competition in Abilene, Texas. Prairie View A&M competed at the collegiate level, grappled with the capricious conditions, but showcased resilience and determination throughout the event.
The Lady Panthers concluded the event in 16th place, navigating through a field of eager competitors. The conditions at the golf course were less than ideal, with high winds influencing the play, yet the team managed a collective score of +121, tallying 336 and 345 across the rounds.
Individually, Prairie View's
Briann Briggs led the team with a score of +21, securing a notable T53 position. Close behind were teammates
Micaiah Joubert and
Kacey Menyoli, who finished with scores of +32 and +33, respectively.
Madison Williams and
Nevaeh Figueroa also contributed significant efforts, underlining the depth and potential of the Lady Panthers as they strive for improvement in challenging circumstances.
Looking ahead, the Lady Panthers are set to compete next at the HCU Husky Invitational on March 10, 2025, at Riverbend Country Club in Sugarland, Texas. As they prepare for their upcoming challenges, the team remains focused on enhancing their skills and performance.
