Prairie View A&M Women's Golf Shines at SWAC Championship

The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers showcased their skills at the SWAC Championship held on April 16, 2025, at the RTJ Golf Trail at OxMoor Valley in Birmingham, Alabama. Despite finishing fourth overall, individual performances by the Lady Panthers captured attention and accolades during this challenging tournament.

Prairie View A&M concluded the tournament with a team score of +144, placing them just behind leaders Alabama State, Southern, and Bethune-Cookman. Standout performers for Prairie View included Briann Briggs and Nevaeh Figueroa, who were named to the All-SWAC Second Team. Briggs tied for sixth place with a score of +29 across the three rounds, highlighting her consistent play. Figueroa wasn't far behind, finishing the contest tied for tenth place at +32.

Further contributions came from Kacey Menyoli, Micaiah Joubert, and Madison Williams, who also competed fiercely, reflecting the depth and talent within the Lady Panthers' roster. The event, marked by challenging fairways and intense competition, was a significant test for the team, and they emerged with promising results and valuable experience.

Looking ahead, the Lady Panthers are set to participate in the prestigious PGA Works Collegiate Championship on May 5 - 7, 2025 in Whistling Straits Kohler, Wis.  This event, crucial for showcasing talent from Historically Black Colleges and Universities among other Minority-Serving Institutions, will be another opportunity for Prairie View A&M to shine on a significant stage.
