PRAIRIE VIEW, TX - The Prairie View A&M University women's soccer team officially reported for preseason camp this week, kicking off what promises to be an exciting 2025 campaign. Under the leadership of Head Coach Abe Garcia, now entering his third season at the helm, the Lady Panthers welcome a balanced roster featuring 11 returners and 16 newcomers.

With a solid core of veterans returning and a deep class of newcomers eager to contribute, the program is building momentum in Garcia's third year as he continues to shape a culture centered on intensity, discipline, and unity.

"There's a great energy around this team," said Coach Garcia. "Our returners know the expectations, and they've been instrumental in helping the new players settle in. We've brought in a talented group, and now it's about blending that talent with experience to build something special."

The Lady Panthers will spend the coming weeks training and building team chemistry as they prepare for a competitive non-conference schedule and the always-tough SWAC lineup. With depth at every position and a renewed focus, PVAMU Soccer is looking to take the next step forward this season.

The team will host Navarro College for an exhibition match-up prior to opening up their season.  The game will take place on August 14 with at 1:00 pm start at the PVAMU Soccer Complex.
