The Prairie View A&M Panthers' men's cross country team is gearing up for their season opener on August 30, 2025, at the Stormy Seas Opener, hosted by Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX. This meet marks the first cross country event of the new season and sets the stage for the Panthers to showcase their talent early on.
Coming off a strong 2024 season, the men's team enters the year with momentum. Thierry Garcon and Noah Green led the Panthers last fall with standout performances, finishing 2nd and 4th, respectively, at the SWAC Cross Country Championships, and both went on to compete at the NCAA South Central Regional Championships. Their efforts helped propel the team to an impressive 2nd place finish overall at the SWAC Championships, signaling a rising presence in the conference. Both athletes have also earned SWAC Runner of the Week honors, further cementing their impact on the program.
Under the direction of head coach Chris Clay, the men's roster includes a solid mix of experience and new talent, with 6 returning athletes and 7 newcomers ready to contribute. The men's race is scheduled for 8:00 AM, with live results available online. Panther fans can expect a determined and focused group looking to build on last season's success and make an early statement in 2025.
