PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – As the Prairie View A&M football team pushed through its seventh day of fall camp, the message from Head Coach Tremaine Jackson remains clear: embrace the heat, embrace the grind, and continue to get better.
"Practice has been OK," said Jackson. "We are still getting guys acclimated to the heat. We moved back to morning practices just because we need to get guys in the heat. They need to feel the sun."
With temperatures continuing to climb, the Panthers are leaning into the adversity instead of backing down.
"The way we ball is a little different from everyone else. Some people run from the heat—we run towards it," Jackson emphasized. "We are proud of our guys because they have been getting through it."
Despite the physical demands, there is steady progress.
"We are still getting better—so much better than where we were before," he continued. "We are still not where we want to be. We're at 60% on how we practice, but ultimately we will get there."
With a strong work ethic and relentless approach, Jackson noted that what PVAMU is building stands out.
"We practice harder than people I've talked to," he said. "So that's something to look forward to."
As the countdown to kickoff continues, the Panthers are sharpening their edge one rep at a time—under the Texas sun and on their own terms.
