PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The Prairie View A&M women's soccer team officially closed out its first week of 2025 preseason training with a competitive Friday night exhibition match, giving Head Coach Abe Garcia and his staff their first live look at this year's squad in action.

Throughout the week, the Lady Panthers put in focused work on fitness, ball control, and tactical execution, building chemistry and sharpening their competitive edge. Coach Garcia said he's already seen significant growth compared to last year's group.

"The week has gone good and overall we've seen a lot of improvement from the girls," Garcia said. "There is a big difference in the attitude of the team and what they want to accomplish. We had our first exhibition game and I saw a lot of good things, but we also have some room for improvement."

The exhibition match gave players valuable minutes to test their skills in game situations, while allowing the coaching staff to evaluate lineups and formations ahead of the regular season.

With the preseason momentum building, the Lady Panthers will continue training next week as they prepare for their season opener on Saturday, August 17 at 1 p.m. at home.
