Panthers Complete Day 1 of Colonel Classic

The Prairie View A&M Panthers are currently in the midst of competing at the Colonel Classic, held at The University Club at Arlington. The tournament, which features a lineup of schools including Longwood, Eastern Kentucky, Morehead State, Mercyhurst, Centre, Marshall, Kentucky State, Pikeville, and Tennessee State, is a key event for the Panthers as they showcase their skills against regional rivals.

After the first day of competition on September 20, 2025, the Panthers have positioned themselves fourth overall after completing two rounds of golf. The first round saw the team achieve a total of 282 strokes, followed by a slightly higher score of 284 strokes in the second round. This performance sets a solid foundation for the team as they prepare to enter the crucial third round.

Highlighting the individual performances, Kolawole Abudu has emerged as a standout player for the Panthers. Tied for second place with a total of 135 strokes, Abudu recorded 67 strokes in the first round and improved slightly with 68 strokes in the second round. His performance is crucial as the Panthers aim to climb up the leaderboard in the upcoming rounds.
