Game Recap: Softball |

Softball falls to SFA in extra innings

NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Prairie View A&M put together a strong effort in the circle, highlighted by a complete-game performance from junior Kayla Adams, who worked all eight innings and allowed just two earned runs. Adams scattered nine hits, issued no walks, and kept the Panthers within striking distance throughout the contest.

Despite being held scoreless, Prairie View A&M continued to battle at the plate and showed discipline against a tough Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks pitching staff. Senior Breayna Jackson sparked momentum late, reaching scoring position in the seventh inning, while the Panthers consistently put the ball in play.

Freshman Morgan Smith led the offensive charge, finishing 2-for-4 with a double to pace Prairie View A&M at the plate.

Game Notes

  • Prairie View A&M pitchers limited SFA to just 1-for-9 (.111) with runners in scoring position.

  • Panther pitchers faced 34 hitters, inducing 12 groundouts and 10 flyouts while keeping traffic on the bases to a minimum.

  • The Panthers were competitive defensively and executed well in key moments, keeping the game tight into the late innings.
