SAN ANTONIO, TX --The Prairie View A&M Panthers had a tough showing on Friday, falling to the Incarnate Word Cardinals 7-2 despite the efforts of Corie Lockette, who went 1 for 3 with an RBI.
Senior Beau Beaty (1-1) started and took the loss on the mound for Prairie View A&M (3-1). Senior Isaac Herrera was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going four shutout innings without allowing a hit, walking four and striking out four.
In the batter's box, the Panthers were led by Lockette, who went 1-for-3 on the day with a walk and an RBI. Junior John Lawson compiled a standout performance at the dish as well, going 2-for-3 with a walk. Jordan Williams also contributed for Prairie View A&M, putting together one hit in four trips to the plate while adding an RBI.

The Panthers were trailing 7-0 in the eighth inning when they first put runs on the board. Prairie View A&M managed to push across two runs in the inning. The Panthers were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame.
