PINE BLUFF, AR --Dontae Horne totaled 32 points, but the Prairie View A&M men's basketball team fell to the UAPB Golden Lions 84-82 on the road Saturday.
The Panthers (11-17, 6-9) had three players score in double figures, led by Horne, who had 32 points and three steals. Lance Williams added 18 points and Joey Madimba helped out with 16 points.
Prairie View A&M out-rebounded UAPB 29-23 in Saturday's game, led by nine boards from Corey Dunning. The Panthers also grabbed 10 offensive rebounds and scored 14 second chance points.
How It Happened
After falling behind 23-17, Prairie View A&M went on a 6-0 run with 9:48 left in the first half, culminating in a bucket from Cory Wells, to tie the game at 23. UAPB then pulled ahead, sending the Panthers into halftime down 45-40.
Prairie View A&M narrowed its deficit to 69-65 before going on a 5-0 run, finished off by Horne's three, to seize a 70-69 lead with 6:38 to go in the contest. UAPB re-asserted control, outscoring the Panthers 15-12 the rest of the way to hand Prairie View A&M the 84-82 loss.
