LAS CRUCES, NM --The Prairie View A&M Panthers got three hits out of Basilio Williams in a 16-1 loss to the New Mexico State Aggies Sunday.
Oliver Brown (1-2) got the ball to start for Prairie View A&M (3-6) and took the loss. Ty Pankonin was a bright spot for the Panthers, coming out of the bullpen and throwing 1.2 shutout innings, allowing no hits, with no walks and one strikeout.
Williams' three-hit day led the Panthers offensively. S. Moses compiled a standout effort as well, going 2-for-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers were trailing 5-0 in the third inning when they first put runs on the board. B. Jackson came across to score the lone run of the inning for Prairie View A&M and get them on the board. The Panthers were unable to get any closer, as New Mexico State added 11 runs to their tally on the way to a 16-1 final.
