DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The Prairie View A&M Panthers battled throughout the day and produced several standout performances at the plate, but ultimately came up short in a Saturday doubleheader against Bethune-Cookman, falling 6-3 in game one and 10-5 in the nightcap.
Despite the pair of setbacks, Prairie View A&M saw strong individual efforts from several Panthers, including Sonnier Moses and Tyvon Moore, who paced the offense across both contests.

Sonnier Moses delivered a solid performance in the opener, going 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs to lead Prairie View A&M.
Bethune-Cookman built a 5-0 advantage before the Panthers broke through in the seventh inning. Moses ignited the rally with a two-run homer to left field, scoring Ryland Duson and trimming the deficit to 5-2.
Prairie View A&M threatened again in the ninth. Duson drove in another run with a one-out RBI double to cut the Wildcats' lead to 5-3, but the late comeback attempt came up just short.
Kenneth Haynes (0-1) was charged with the loss for the Panthers. Out of the bullpen, Reginald Samuel provided a bright spot with two shutout innings while allowing just one hit.

Bethune-Cookman responded to take the lead, but Prairie View A&M kept applying pressure. Trailing 5-2 in the fifth, Tyvon Moore crossed the plate to cut the deficit to 5-3.
The Wildcats extended their lead to 9-3 before the Panthers mounted another push in the sixth inning. Prairie View A&M scored twice to narrow the margin to 9-5, but could not close the gap further as Bethune-Cookman secured the 10-5 win.
Moore led the Panthers offensively, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI. Brandon Stinson added two hits and a double, while Duson drove in two runs.
