PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The Prairie View A&M women's basketball team continued to build momentum during the 2025-26 season under first-year head coach Tai Dillard, showcasing resilience, development, and a competitive spirit throughout Southwestern Athletic Conference play.

The Panthers opened a new era of women's basketball on The Hill with a youthful roster that gained valuable experience while competing against some of the conference's top programs. Throughout the season, Prairie View displayed significant growth on both ends of the floor and remained in contention for postseason positioning entering the final stretch of conference play.

Leading the way was junior guard CJ Wilson, who emerged as one of the SWAC's premier scorers, averaging a team-best 15.8 points per game while providing leadership and consistency throughout the season. Wilson recorded numerous double-digit scoring performances and proved to be a reliable offensive weapon for the Panthers.

Crystal Schultz delivered a breakout campaign and earned SWAC Player of the Week honors after a series of standout performances. Schultz's ability to impact the game on both ends of the court provided a spark for Prairie View and helped fuel several key victories during conference competition.

The Panthers also received strong contributions from Alana Shields and Ja'Nya Polk, whose versatility and steady play helped anchor the team's rotation. Together, the group formed a solid foundation that allowed Prairie View to compete with some of the league's most established programs.

Throughout the season, the Panthers showcased their determination with several signature performances, including key conference wins and competitive outings against postseason contenders. The team's continued improvement was evident as the season progressed, particularly in defensive intensity, rebounding, and overall execution.

Under Dillard's leadership, Prairie View established a culture centered on accountability, effort, and player development. The season served as an important building block for the program as the Panthers gained experience and laid the groundwork for future success.

With a talented core returning and valuable lessons learned throughout the 2025-26 campaign, Prairie View A&M women's basketball enters the offseason poised to continue its upward trajectory and compete for greater success in the years ahead.
