HUNTSVILLE, Texas — Prairie View A&M Women's Cross Country kicked off its season on a high note at the Bearkat Twilight, with a strong 3rd-place overall finish behind a standout podium performance by Lea Murphy.
Murphy spearheaded the Lady Panthers' efforts, breaking through the top three to secure 3rd place overall with a time of 19:59.2. Maya Clark anchored the secondary wave, crossing the line in 13th place at 23:52.6.
Savonya Collins, Layla Phillips, and Eslie Ngoran demonstrated crucial pack discipline to round out the scoring squad, finishing in 16th (26:42.9), 17th (27:20.4), and 18th (29:49.8), respectively, to lock in PVAMU's top-three team result.
The Lady Panthers will now shift their focus to Houston, Texas, where they are scheduled to compete at the 50th Rice Invitational.
