Brian White

Brian White is entering his seventh season on the Panther staff, focusing on recruiting, game scheduling, base coaching, serving as academic liaison and outfield instruction.

White has aided in the development of some of the SWAC's better outfielders, including Xavier Jefferson and Cody Den Beste

White played baseball on the Texas Southern squad from 1992-95. While at TSU, White earned SWAC All-Academic honors and won the team academic award in 1995. White's career was cut short in 1995 due to an injury. He later was an assistant coach at his alma mater and a part of SWAC Championship teams in 2004 and 2008. 

White started his coaching career as a student assistant at TSU in 1995. In 1996, he worked as a graduate assistant coach and work in the Academic Enhancement Center for Student-Athletes at TSU. After completing his graduate assistant position in 1998, Coach White was elevated as assistant coach while working as a teacher at Galena Park Middle School.

In 2002, he returned to Texas Southern to as assistant baseball coach while assisting student-athletes in the Academic Enhancement Center for Student-Athletes. White coached several All-SWAC performers as well as several freshman All-American standouts. White coached several players who were drafted in the MLB Draft during his TSU tenure, and was on staff for the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance, highlighted by an historic 2004 NCAA Tournament win over Rice. 

White also taught in the developmental education department at TSU from 2002-09, and after leaving the program he remained at the school as a visiting instructor in the English department from 2009-2015.

Coach White has worked with various youth baseball organizations in the Houston area, including the initial Houston RBI program, leading teams to the RBI World Series 15 times. and was hired as baseball instructor with the Houston Astros Urban Youth Academy.

The Beaumont, Texas native earned his bachelor's degree (1996) and Master's degree (1998) from Texas Southern.
