Reggie Moore

Coach Moore is going into his 3rd season of his second stint at Prairie View A&M University as the Pass Game Coordinator. He also coached the receivers from 2015-2017 under then head coach Willie Simmons. He brings a wealth of experience from the FBS, FCS, and the NFL level that spans over 25 years of coaching. He has had previous stops at the University of Washington (2003), North Dakota State (2004-2007), UCLA (2008-2010), and most recently at the University of Colorado (2020-2021). He has participated in several Minority Internships in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos, Baltimore Ravens, Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers.

A native Houstonian, he began his coaching career in 1999 at his high school alma mater (James Madison High School) under one of Prairie View A&M's favorite sons, the legendary Ray Seals. Moore has mentored and tutored a number of professional athletes over his career as well. Currently KhaDarel Hodge (Atlanta Falcons), and Quinton Bell (Miami Dolphins) were both under his tutelage at PV during his first tour, as well as Josh Simmoms (formerly of the USFL Pittsburgh Maulers)  an All-USFL Special Teams award winner for the 2023 season. Just this past spring, Jaquan Bloomfield was selected by the Canadian League Ottawa Red Blacks in the 4th round (35th overall pick) in the 2024 draft. 

As a collegiate player, Moore went on to be a 3-year starter at UCLA under the late Terry Donahue from (1986-1991) and was a Sporting News Magazine Sophomore All-American (1988). He was a favorite target of NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman, who went on to be the 1st pick in the 1989 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. As a professional he spent 2 seasons with the NY Jets (1991-1992) and went on to the LA Rams (1993) where an injury derailed his career. A talented touted infielder out of high school (shortstop) he was selected in the 44th round by the Texas Rangers in the 1990 MLB Amateur Draft after years away from the sport.

While attending his alma mater, James Madison High School, he finished 9th in his graduating senior class in 1986. There he received several National Honors including being selected to the 1986 Parade Magazine All-American Team, the National Honor Society, and received the Adidas Scholastic Achievement Award.  He was also selected to play in the then Whataburger Texas High School All-Star game. His father Zeke Moore spent 12 seasons with the Houston Oilers (AFL 1967-69, NFL 1970-78) and was selected to 2 Pro Bowls. His younger brother, Trey Moore, played basketball at Mississippi State, and went on to a lengthy career in the European League earning MVP honors, and is currently still with the famous Harlem Globetrotter Organization.
