Prairie View A&M University Athletics

Tyler Nelson is a sophomore quarterback at Prairie View A&M University, majoring in Criminal Justice. From Birmingham, Alabama, he graduated from Gardendale High School, where one of his most memorable moments came during his senior year when he led his team to an area championship with a last-second two-point conversion in a tied game, showcasing his poise and leadership under pressure.

On game day, Tyler prays in remembrance of lost loved ones and follows a personal music sequence to get mentally focused. Off the field, he enjoys playing with his dog and basketball. His favorite entertainer is DC Young Fly, his favorite movie is Creed, and spaghetti is his favorite food. Christmas is a holiday he particularly enjoys.

Looking ahead, Tyler aspires to achieve remarkable success at Prairie View A&M and leave his mark in the record books. His long-term goals include becoming a college coach or pursuing a career as an FBI agent. He chose Prairie View A&M for the chance to work with Coach Tremaine Jackson and to help influence and elevate the culture of the program.
