Biography

2021- Prairie View A&M program has placed six outstanding scholar-athletes on the National Tenpin Coaches Association's (NTCA) All-Academic Team, as well as making the grade as one of the top ten academic programs in the nation.The team honors individual bowlers who have maintained a cumulative grade-point average of 3.4 or greater during the 2020-21 academic year. Added to this years' achievement are freshman Ashlyn Okazaki, junior Ivelisse Reyes and senior Sonja Ortiz each earning recognition from the NTCA. The Lady Panthers were just as impressive off the lanes as they were on it, posting a team GPA of 3.693 while winning this past season's SWAC regular season championship for a third time, as well as a SWAC Championship.

2020-21: Southwestern Athletic Conference West Bowling Roundup from USA Bowl left the Prairie View A&M bowling team third in the standings after going 3-2 , with Freshman Ashlyn Okazaki siting in 13th (350). on 2 day of the Conference Ozazaki is 11th in average pinfall (175).

Highschool :Okazaki, a native of Mililani, Hawaii, has posted a litany of accomplishments at 'Iolani School. Carrying a 3.4 GPA, the right-hander intends to major in Architecture and should be a difference maker on the lanes for the defending Southwestern Athletic Conference champions.

Okazaki anchored the 'Iolani team as they won back-to-back state championships in 2018 and 2019, the first two state titles in program history. The 2019 Interscholastic League of Honolulu Player of the Year, Okazaki had top-8 individual finishes at both state championship victories. Okazaki also led 'Iolani to consecutive ILH titles as well and was a first-team selection to the 2017-18 ILH All-Star Team.

Okazaki also earned accolades on the Hawaii Bowlers Tour and the Leeward Youth Bowling League. She was named the 2018-19 Most Improved Senior for the Leeward league and led all girls players in Hawaii Bowlers Tour Scratch points in 2019.

A two-time participant in Junior Gold Championships, Okazaki boasts a single-game high score of 266, and her high series score is 721. Okazaki is set to join the team this fall.
