Prairie View A&M University Athletics

Amiah “AB” Brown is a center back from Mansfield, Texas, and a sophomore at Prairie View A&M University majoring in Communications. She previously attended Dallas College Brookhaven and has been passionate about soccer since her parents enrolled her in the sport at age three. Amiah is motivated by a desire to be a role model for younger Black soccer players in a sport that is often dominated by white and Hispanic athletes, and she strives to make a meaningful impact both on and off the field.

One of Amiah’s most memorable moments came when she competed at the NJCAA National Tournament in New York, showcasing her talent on a national stage. She believes one of the biggest challenges for athletes today is navigating the transfer portal, which, while helpful in some cases, can leave talented players stuck or overlooked. Amiah’s passion and perseverance are fueled by her love for the game and the opportunity to inspire others.

Outside of soccer, Amiah enjoys hanging out with friends, shopping, reading, working out, and watching movies. Her favorite movie is The Princess and The Frog, and she loves pasta. She considers her birthday her favorite holiday because it’s a day all about her. Looking ahead, Amiah hopes to be in law school, excelling in her studies, and working with professional sports organizations in a communication role. She chose Prairie View A&M for its people, culture, and the chance to play on a team where she isn’t the minority.
