Prairie View A&M University Athletics

Ella Lee Copenhaver, known as El, is a junior from Prosper, Texas majoring in Chemistry at Prairie View A&M University. She previously attended Rock Hill High School and plays as a goalkeeper, hoping to wear the number 1 jersey if available. Inspired by her mom and little brothers, Ella’s passion for soccer is deeply rooted in her family’s support and encouragement, driving her to be her best both on and off the field.

Some of her most memorable moments came during her time at JUCO, where she made lifelong friends and competed at Nationals two years in a row. Ella believes that juggling school, jobs, and sports is one of the biggest challenges athletes face today.

In her free time, Ella enjoys baking, spending time outdoors, and being with friends and family. Her favorite movie is Christmas Vacation, and she loves a good chips and queso dip. Christmas is her favorite holiday because of the joy and love it brings. She chose Prairie View A&M for its welcoming community, which felt like a second home from the start. Five years from now, Ella hopes to reach the highest level in forensic science, with her dream job being a forensic scientist with the FBI.
