Listi Records Shutout In PV Debut

Scheduling Conflicts End Tournament

GAME BOX SCORE

JACKSON, Miss. -
Junior Michael Listi pitched a one-hit shutout in his Prairie View A&M debut as Prairie View A&M recorded a 2-0 win over Florida A&M on Saturday afternoon at the Jackson State University Baseball Tournament.

PV scored its first run of the 2011 campaign as Andre Oliver scored on Giovanni Angel's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first. The Panthers returned to the scoreboard in the sixth on Ralph Perez's RBI single which scored Brandon Williams for a 2-0 margin.

Listi was nearly flawless as he struck out seven while allowing only one hit in seven innings of action. Five Panthers recorded hits with Perez and Angel logging an RBI each.

Due to a scheduling conflict, the rest of Prairie View's tournament games in Jackson have been canceled as they were scheduled to play Jackson State on Saturday and Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Sunday.

Prairie View returns to action on Tuesday as they travel to College Station, Texas to battle Texas A&M beginning at 6:35 p.m.
