Baseball To Open Tourney Play Wednesday At Noon

Panthers Battle Jackson State In Shreveport

Every game the Panthers will play in will be broadcasted live via the Internet at www.ktorradio.com.

The Prairie View A&M baseball team opens up SWAC Tournament play against Jackson State at noon on Wednesday, May 18 in Shreveport, La. at Fairgrounds Field.

Wednesday's meeting marks the first postseason appearance for the Panthers since 2008. Since returning to postseason play in 2005 after a long hiatus, the Panthers have been pretty successful with four championship game appearances (2005-2008) and an overall mark of 15-4.

This will be the first time since the semifinal round of the 2007 SWAC Tournament that Prairie View A&M will meet Jackson State on the diamond. The teams were to meet this season on Feb. 19 in Jackson, Miss. but had to cancel the game due to an altercation.
