Due to impending weather conditions, tomorrow's Prairie View A&M baseball season opener versus Southern University has been moved to Minute Maid Park in Houston at 8 a.m. Following Friday's games, the Urban Invitational will continue as scheduled as the Panthers will play at 7 p.m. Saturday at Minute Maid and 6 p.m. Sunday at the Astros MLB Urban Youth Academy. Saturday night's game will also be aired nationally on MLB Network.
On Saturday, the Panthers will face off against Texas Southern at Minute Maid Park in Houston at 7 p.m. and will close out the classic versus Grambling State at the MLB Urban Academy on Sunday at 6:00 p.m.
Also on Saturday, a battle of the bands will take place between the PV “Marching Storm” and TSU “Ocean of Soul” at 6 p.m. at Minute Maid Park in addition to appearances from “American Idol” winner Ruben Studdard and Tony Award-winning artist Jennifer Holliday. Studdard will sing the national anthem prior to the 3 p.m. contest while Holiday will sing “America The Beautiful” before the start of the PV/TSU contest at 7 p.m.
Tickets are only $5 for Saturday's affair at Minute Maid or fans can purchase a special $10 ticket which includes admission to all three games and a food coupon. Presale tickets are available at www.Houston.Astros.mlb.com.
