RESULTS
NEW YORK – Myesha Dixon, Kia Allen and Kelsi Alexander recorded personal best marks this past weekend as several members of the Prairie View A&M women's track team participated in the annual New Balance Collegiate Invitational in New York City.
Dixon posted a career-best 8.74 in the preliminary round of the 60-meter hurdles. Overall, the junior from Houston finished seventh in the event. In the long jump, Kia Allen finished 11th overall with a personal-best mark of 5.63 meters. Allen's performance was extra special as she hails from nearby Queens. Alexander, freshman from Houston, also ran a personal best of 57.61 in the 400.
The distance medley relay team of Martha Bustamante, Leticia Bustamante, Corinna Brown and Sylvonna Thompson also had a solid outing with a season-low mark of 12:41.
The Lady Panthers return to the track in two weeks as they'll travel to Norman, Okla. for the Oklahoma Invitational.
