Prairie View A&M beat Arkansas-Pine Bluff 5-2 on Sunday afternoon to improve to 13-7 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play, one game behind Southern in the West Division standings and two games ahead of Grambling State.

Daniel Castillo, the Panthers remained in control for most of the game. Listi went 6 2/3 innings, allowing just five hits and one earned run.
He took a 2-1 lead into the seventh, but he was given the no decision after UAPB's Cornelius Montgomery scored on a throwing error to tie the game at 2-2. Prairie View A&M coach
Waskyla Cullivan called on Castillo to finish the game, and he held the Golden Lions scoreless while the Prairie View piled on three runs in the top of the eighth.

Brett Valley from third and give the Panthers a 3-2 lead. Then
Darryl Johnson doubled into the left field gap, driving in
Evan Richard and Brad Benes to tack on two more runs. Castillo picked up his fourth win of the season, and Prairie View A&M improved to 22-20.
Valley finished 2-for-2 with a run scored, one RBI and a base on ball.
Andre Oliver turned in a well-balanced game, going 1-for-3 with one run scored, two stolen bases and a base on ball.
The Panthers hit the road on Tuesday to face Texas at 6 p.m. in Austin before a pivotal three-game series against Grambling State on Saturday and Sunday.
