With the opportunity to post its best divisional finish since 2007, the Prairie View A&M baseball team opens up a key series against Grambling State this weekend at the Prairie View baseball complex.
On the diamond, the Panthers are locked in a battle for the top spot in the SWAC West with Southern. With only four games remaining on the schedule and with SU holding the series, the Panthers will need to win out in order to have a chance at winning the SWAC West title.
This weekend's opponent in Grambling State sits two games back behind the Panthers and enters the series looking to sneak up on the SWAC West's No. 2 seed in the upcoming SWAC Tournament. At stake this weekend for the Panthers is the opportunity to remain in the SWAC West Title hunt in addition to wrapping up the No. 2 seed. PV took 2-of-3 from GSU in round one and a series win would guarantee the Panthers their best finish in the division since 2007.
The series begins with a doubleheader at noon on Saturday and a single game at 1 p.m. on Sunday in Prairie View, Texas. Game two on Saturday will be broadcast live on www.KTORRADIO.com with live stats through the PV website for all three games on the front page.
