Sloppy defense came back to bite Prairie View A&M in the series finale vs. Texas Southern in a 13-0 run rule loss on Sunday. Texas Southern's first five runs of the game were unearned as the Panthers compiled four errors in the first six innings to hand Texas Southern the game.
Prairie View A&M entered the game with a 5-0 lead in the year's series looking for the complete sweep, but it had to settle for a 5-1 lead. Panthers starter Michael Medina was credited with the loss after giving up five runs (none earned) in 5 1/3 innings of work.
The Panthers dropped to 19-17 with a 8-7 Southwestern Athletic Conference record. They will play hosts to Houston Baptist at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Prairie View A&M as they try to bounce back from the loss.
