BOX SCORE
AUSTIN - The Panthers received a gem of a game from their starting pitcher Stephen Lunsford, but it wasn't enough overcome the shutout thrown by the Texas pitching staff in a 1-0 loss at Disch-Falk Field in Austin Texas.
In only his second start of his career, Prairie View A&M's Lunsford went toe-to-toe with Texas starter Josh Urban. Lunsford, backed by a solid Panthers defense threw 6 2/3 scoreless innings for the Panthers to start the game off.

The play looked to be routine for Oliver, who made a couple of Web Gem-worthy plays in the form of diving catches.
Following the error, Texas recorded two more hits in the inning. Catcher Jeremy Montalbano's single to left center ended the shutout for Lunsford.
The Panthers were out-hitting the Longhorns 7-2 heading into the seventh inning stretch , but they couldn't get a run on the board. First baseman Dominiq Harris batted 2-for-4, but the game could not be won on his bat alone.
