Texas A&M Rallies Back For 8-2 Win Over Panthers

BOX SCORE
COLLEGE STATION, Texas - A 2-0 lead failed to hold as Texas A&M scored the game's next eight runs en route to an 8-2 victory over the Prairie View A&M Panthers Tuesday night at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.

The Panthers clawed out two runs in the top of the first after getting five of the first six batters on base against A&M starter Matt Kent. Robert Cossey led off the frame with a single up the middle and stole second on the following pitch. Jeff Sealy reached first with one out before an error at third by Ronnie Gideon allowed Cossey to score. Greg Salcido then drove Kent's full-count offering back through the middle to give the Panthers a two-run advantage.

The Aggies were able to roar back, scoring three runs off Prairie View starter Pedro Maldonado in the bottom of the third to claim the lead for the first time on the evening. Blake Allemand laced a one-out double just past the glove of the first basemen into the right field corner and Logan Taylor dropped a single into shallow right-center to give A&M the first run. Cole Lankford then followed up with a two-run blast to the visitor's bullpen in right field for his third home run of the season.

A&M tacked on a run in the bottom of the fourth, doing all its damage with two outs in the frame. Krey Bratsen singled up the middle and stole second before Allemand drew a seven-pitch walk to push Maldonado from the game. Taylor would follow with a single through the right side off Sean Hollis to score Bratsen from second.

The Panthers will host Grambling State on Saturday at 12 p.m. at the PVAMU Baseball Stadium.
