FLICK POSTGAME INTERVIEW

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Senior pitcher Chadd Flick pitched a complete game gem as Prairie View A&M handled its business from start-to-finish on Friday morning as they eliminated Alabama A&M 9-2 in the SWAC Baseball Tournament.

The Panthers stormed out to a 4-0 lead in the third as Robert Cossey hit an RBI single followed by an RBI from Colby Hines and a two-RBI single to center from Walter Wells.  The lead improved to 5-0 in the fourth as Dominiq Harris doubled home Cody Den Beste while Jeff Sealy drove in the sixth run of the game in the fifth with an RBI double to left field.

A sacrifice fly by Harris and an RBI single from Cossey in the sixth moved PVAMU on top 8-1 followed by a bases loaded walk from Wells which increased the margin to 9-1.  AAMU scored once in the eighth but it was too little too late as starter Chadd Flick struck out seven batters and provided the Panthers' bullpen a major rest entering the remainder of the tournament.

The Panthers now turn their sights to Jackson State this afternoon as they'll have to defeat JSU twice in two days in order to advance to the title game.  The team is in the same position it was in last season as they knocked off Alabama State twice to earn a championship game appearance.

The Panthers will battle JSU at 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon with the game broadcast live on www.SWAC.org.
