JACKSON, Miss. -- The Prairie View A&M women's tennis team picked up its first Southwestern Athletic Conference victory on Saturday, and finished the first SWAC roundup weekend with a record of 1-2.

The Lady Panthers breezed to a 7-0 decision over Alabama A&M on Saturday to conclude their three matches this weekend. Prairie View A&M opened the event Friday with a loss to Jackson State, and lost 6-1 to Alabama State on Saturday.

Taylor LeFridge was Prairie View A&M's big winner for the weekend, as she rolled to three individual victories in flight one singles play. She was the Lady Panthers' lone winner against Alabama State as she outlasted Arantxia Wijinhaarde by scores of 6-3, 3-6, and 6-0.

Prairie View A&M's tennis teams return to action Tuesday when they visit Texas A&M–Corpus Christi.
