HUNTSVILLE, Texas – The Prairie View A&M women's tennis team played the first of two weekend matches Saturday at Sam Houston State. The Lady Panthers opened the weekend with a match with Louisiana Tech.
The Bulldogs prevailed 4-0 over the Lady Panthers; Louisiana Tech only got the needed four points for the victory, as time constraints did not allow every individual match to finish.
Louisiana Tech took flights one and two of doubles play to get its first point.
Tatiana Ruhl had the longest completed match for the Lady Panthers in her first singles match of the season. She took four games from Manoela Chiacchio in a 6-3, 6-1 defeat in flight six.
In flight three,
Stacy Lackey took three games from Jazmin Britos in the first set before falling in a 6-3, 6-0 decision.
The Lady Panthers return to the courts Sunday to face host Sam Houston State. Match time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
