LAKE CHARLES, La. – The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers women's tennis team returned to the court Sunday in Louisiana, where they faced McNeese State of the Southland Conference.
The host Cowgirls won the match by a score of 7-0.
McNeese State won the doubles point by taking flights one and two. In flight one, Sarah Jurakova and Giovanna Fioretti defeated PVAMU's
Stacy Lackey and
Neharika Rama 6-0. Flight two saw
Shaddae Findley and
Timara Maxwell fall 6-1 to McNeese State's Klaudia Gawlik and Hannah Brett.
With flights one and two decided, the flight three doubles match featuring PVAMU's
Sydney Thomas and
Maria Lackey was not completed.
Rama gave Jurakova a long match in flight two singles play before the Cowgirls player prevailed 6-0, 6-2. In flight six Maxwell claimed four games in the opening set before falling 6-4, 6-0 to Anastasija Trubich.
In flight five, Charoline Erlandsson defeated Findley 6-2, 6-2.
