MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers swept to a 7-0 win over Arkansas–Pine Bluff without losing a game Friday to highlight their second weekend of the Southwestern Athletic Conference's roundup.
 
The Lady Panthers went 1-2 over the weekend to finish the SWAC regular season with a record of 3-4.
 
In Friday's win over the Lady Lions, PVAMU won all four singles competitions played with identical 6-0, 6-0 wins. Neharika Rama defeated Tia Thomas in flight one, while Sydney Thomas defeated UAPB's Jaclyn Reed in flight two.
 
Flight three saw Trinity Randolph get her first conference singles win of the year, defeating Cierra Fenwick. Shaddae Findley turned away Mariah Johnson in flight four.
 
The short-handed Lady Lions did not have players for flights five and six, giving wins to Timara Maxwell and Tatiana Ruhl, respectively.
 
The Lady Panthers won the doubles point when the Lady Lions forfeited all three matches.
 
Prairie View A&M's 4-1 loss to Jackson State on Saturday saw the Lady Panthers take the doubles point by winning flights one and two. Rama and Thomas defeated Ariel Dickson and Rebeckah Adewumi 6-2 in flight one, while Randolph and Maxwell triumphed over Julie Angermann and Anastasia Zviahintseva 7-6 in a tiebreaker.
 
The Lady Panthers return to the courts Wednesday when they visit Waco to face the Baylor Bears. Match time is tentatively scheduled for 10 a.m.
