BASEBALL OPENS HOME, SWAC SCHEDULE AGAINST TEXAS SOUTHERN The Prairie View A&M University baseball team opens its home and Southwestern Athletic Conference schedule in a three-game weekend series against archrival Texas Southern beginning Friday at 3 p.m. at Tankersley Field.

Nathan Carter leads the Panthers with a .394 average in 12 games with 10 starts. The Panthers and Tigers split their six meetings last season.

SOFTBALL TO PLAY TWO AT HOUSTON Coming off a Wednesday doubleheader sweep, the Prairie View A&M Lady Panther softball team will play at doubleheader at 1 p.m.

The Lady Panthers (3-14) won a pair of games Wednesday at Texas A&M Corpus Christi by scores of 1 -0 and 4-2.

FOOTBALL TO WRAP UP SECOND WEEK OF SPRING PRACTICE FRIDAY The PVAMU football team will wrap up its week of spring drills in a Friday morning practice at Panther Stadium.

Willie Simmons, who is the first Panthers head football coach to post winning seasons in his first two campaigns since 1950-51, will lead the team through a final practice before spring break next week. Football will conclude spring practice with the Purple and Gold Game Saturday, April 8 at 2 p.m. at Panther Stadium.

PV RELAYS RETURN MARCH 25 The 84
th edition of the Prairie View A&M Relays Track and Field meet will run on Saturday, March 25 starting at 8 a.m. at the new PVAMU Track Stadium.
