Women's Soccer Falls In Regular Season Opener

EDINBURG, Texas – The Prairie View A&M University soccer team fell to the University of Texas Rio-Grand Valley 3-1 to open the season. 

The Vaquero's grabbed a quick lead over Prairie View in the 22nd minute of the first half.  Ten minutes later another UTRGV player knocked in another goal to take a 2-0 lead in the 34th minute. 

Trailing 3-0 in the second half, the Lady Panthers scored in the 83rd minute on a goal by sophomore Paiton Maples. 

The Lady Panthers return to action Sunday quickly as they will face Cal-Bakersfield on Sunday at 11 a.m. in Edinburg, Texas.
