PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas –Prairie View A&M's University women's track student-athlete Deonca Bookman finished second in her heat in the 400m hurdles at the World University Games earlier today in Taipei, Taiwan.
 
The Allen, Texas native and three-time SWAC 400m hurdles champion posted a time of 59.84, but did not advance to the finals.
 
"I am happy that I got this opportunity to compete," said Bookman.  "It wasn't quite the finish I was looking for, but being on this level for my first time was a great experience. I look forward to competing again in the near future."
