Soccer Shuts Out Jaguars in Conference Win

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Prairie View A&M University soccer team earned its first win of the season and of conference play in a 5-0 decision over the Southern Sunday afternoon.

The Lady Panthers jumped on top quickly, scoring the second goal of the season just less than eight minutes into today's contest. Alexis Mack scored the first goal as well as her first on the season to take a 1-0 lead at the 12:52 mark.

Moments later, Mack set up teammate Danielle Vargas for PVAMU' second goal of the game at the 14:30 mark closing out the first 45 with a 2-0 lead.

The Lady Panthers scored goals midway through the second half to cap the scoring. Mila Butos SWAC preseason first team member notched her first career and season goal at the 63:01 mark and Blair Lane added another score at 79:46. Bustos scored her second score of the season in the final minutes to take a 5-0 win at 84:45 minute.

PVAMU had a 14-3 advantage in shots, including a 7-2 advantage in the first half and a 7-1 mark in the second half. The shots on goal weren't any closer the Lady Panthers had 13 to the Jags one.
