4/24/2019 10:47:00 PM

NACOGDOCHES, Texas -  Due to thunder and lightening the Prairie View A&M baseball team and Stephen F. Austin had to halt play in the bottom of the four inning, as the game was declared a non-contest Wednesday night.

Before the game stoppage, Prairie View A&M held a 5-0 lead over SFA in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Panthers scored three in the first and two more in the second before a one-hour lightning delay brought the game to a halt for the first time. No statistics or results from the game will go on either team's record.

The Panthers will return back to conference play as it turns its attention to rival Texas Southern.  The three game series is set to begin Friday evening at 5 p.m. in Houston at MacGregor Park.  The games will continue Saturday for a 2 p.m. start and on Sunday at 1 p.m.
